Grower Champagne from the birthplace of bubbles. Family-made since 1903.
From the very hills where champagne was born. Hautvillers. The cradle of champagne. The village where Dom Pérignon first said, "Come quickly, I am tasting the stars." And it's here, on these legendary slopes, that the Lemaire family has quietly made bubbles for over a century.
In 1860, Eugène Lemaire, the village farrier of Hautvillers, worked the soil with his wife Jeanne. A few vines. A side passion. But their son Fernand saw something more. So in 1903, Fernand took the leap. He built his own press. He carved a cellar into the ancient crayère. He bottled his first cuvée and signed his name to it.
Champagne Fernand Lemaire was born.
Today, the domaine spans 6 hectares of Premier Cru vineyards in Hautvillers, one of the most revered villages in all of Champagne. This is grower champagne: Récoltant Manipulant. That means the Lemaire family does everything themselves. From pruning the vines to turning the bottles by hand. From the first press to the final label.
We searched for a champagne that felt like a toast, not a handshake. One that didn't need a special occasion, but became the occasion.
Fernand Lemaire is that champagne. Small production. Giant soul. Bubbles that belong.
