Gouverneur Saint-Auban Rouge

Terroir: Originating from the “Faysses” vineyard, it is the singular reflection of a terroir, combining power and balance. With its very Northern Rhône style, Gouverneur is a lacy wine built for ageing. It is the expression of this great terroir, with power in a velvety structure.

Aging: 12 months in barrels (20% new, the rest 2 to 3 years old)

Tasting: Deep, dark ruby-red color. The bouquet is intense, rich notes of blackberry, cassis and licorice are elegantly matched by hints of vanilla and toast. The suave attack is a prelude to a fat, full-bodied palate, lined with ripe fruit and spices over a well-constructed tannic structure and well-controlled oak. Length, distinction and good ageing potential characterize this Gouverneur.

Serving suggestion: Perfect with beef cheek stew, grilled lamb chops, Bleu du Queyras cheese
